Project Progress Report

The Hilltop Streetscape project is moving along as planned! The Contractor is on schedule with no major issues to report. Based on the Contractor’s schedule, they expect to complete the work in mid-January. Of course, this schedule does not reflect any impacts due to inclement weather. Below are a few things that are currently underway!

Prime Contractor, Bobby Martin Construction is continuing with the work of installing utility lines on Industrial Street, Commerce Street, Mistletoe Lane and Azalea Avenue.

Subcontractor, Ward’s Concrete is continuing with the construction of sidewalk, curb and gutter on the west side of Hilltop Drive between the I-5 north bound off ramp and Grove Street.

Subcontractor, North State Hydroseeding continues installing irrigation controllers and lines on the west side of Hilltop Drive. They have started placing new trees in the recently completed curbed planters.

What’s on the Horizon:

Bobby Martin Construction, Ward’s Concrete, and North State Hydroseeding are preparing to begin construction of the median planters in the continuous left turn lane of Hilltop Drive. This work in the median will consist of removing the existing surfacing, constructing concrete curb and placing irrigation lines, electrical controllers, and soil for the median landscaping.

Bobby Martin tentatively plans to begin installation of vaults and conduits on Grove Street, Hilltop Drive between Grove Street and Cypress Avenue, and on Cypress Avenue to the north of the intersection of Hilltop Drive in mid-September 2008. This will be night work and will be reflected in a near future update of the project web site and public notices once the exact time frame is determined.
